MARYMOUNT SCHOOL IN NEW YORK CITY
ENGAGES GHIORSI & SORRENTI, INC.

School Embarks on Multi-Million Dollar Campaign

Marymount School in New York City has engaged Ghiorsi & Sorrenti, Inc. as they plan for an historical multi-million dollar fund raising campaign for capital and endowment, it was announced today by the New Jersey-based fund raising and public relations firm.

Marymount is an independent Catholic day school for girls from Nursery through 12th grade, founded by Mother Marie Joseph Butler in 1926 as part of a network of schools directed by the Religious Order of the Sacred Heart of Mary.  The commitment to excellence in the rigorous value-centered education of girls and young women has remained constant through the years, and now, Marymount School is at the doorstep of a major initiative.

Marymount's Lower and Upper Schools occupy three adjoining Beaux Arts buildings directly across from the Metropolitan Museum of Art that were built around the turn of the 20th century.  In addition, a fourth building, housing the Middle School, opened at 2 East 82nd Street in September, 2002.  At the core of the School’s strategic plan which will address the immediate and long-range needs of the school is the acquisition of a building to house a newly constructed athletic and performing arts facility, and the continuation of the commitment to enhance Marymount School’s endowment.

Headquartered in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, GSI is a leading fund raising and public relations firm, specializing in planning and executing capital campaigns. Since 1989, Ghiorsi & Sorrenti, Inc. has partnered with hundreds of organizations in raising more than $6 billion with an additional $6 million in progress.
