College Seeks to Raise $25 Million
Marymount Manhattan College, an urban, independent, liberal arts college located in the heart of New York City, has engaged Ghiorsi & Sorrenti, Inc as campaign counsel, it was announced today by the New Jersey-based fund raising and public relations firm.
Founded in 1936 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, the College enrolls approximately 1,800 undergraduate students from 48 states and 36 countries. The mission of the college is to educate a socially and economically diverse population by fostering intellectual achievement and personal growth and by providing opportunities for career development. Inherent in this mission is the intent to develop an awareness of social, political, cultural and ethical issues, in the belief that this awareness will lead to concern for, participation in, and improvement of society.
To sustain that mission for future generations of students, Marymount Manhattan seeks to raise a minimum of $25 million to support a number of initiatives including increasing need-based scholarships, which are ever-more critical in the current economic environment, as well as enhancement of academic excellence and the expansion and enhancement of facilities.
