Catholic Health East (CHE) is a multi-institutional, Catholic health system located in 11 eastern states from Maine to Florida. Co-sponsored by 14 religious communities, CHE is comprised of 31 acute care hospitals, 40 skilled nursing facilities, 22 residential facilities, and numerous ambulatory and community-based health services.

After an extensive search of leading national firms conducted by CHE’s Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, Stan Urban, in conjunction with the System’s Fund Development Council (FDC), Ghiorsi & Sorrenti, Inc. was selected as the preferred provider for fund raising services for the System and its affiliates.  Since that time, GSI has had multiple assignments for the System at the corporate level ranging from: the design of a uniform method of philanthropic financial reporting, to profiling the development resources and expertise available to members System wide, to giving counsel with the establishment of a System-wide charitable gift annuity program, to providing interim development executive staffing services.

Consistent and high quality services and meaningful cost economies were each key factors that went into CHE’s decision to select a preferred provider for fund raising services. So, too, was the intent to support affiliates’ fund raising programs by, in essence, pre-qualifying a consulting firm with the experience and resources to meet a wide diversity of needs at the local provider level.  Following is a summary of GSI’s varied engagements throughout the CHE System:
