Arthur S. Collier, FAHP
Senior Executive Counsel

Arthur CollierArt Collier has designed, developed and/or directed fund raising programs that have produced over $1 billion in a 33 year development career.  He has served healthcare institutions, a multi-hospital system and a diverse client group as a consultant.

For the last 16 years, Mr. Collier has served as counsel to Ghiorsi & Sorrenti, Inc. (GSI). He specializes in capital campaign planning and organization, assessments of fund raising potential, resource development audits, program and organization development, and strategic plans for fund raising.  Healthcare systems and institutions comprise the majority of the client base.

Mr. Collier was Foundation President and Vice President for External Affairs for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles that produced over $20 million annually. 

He spent 11 years in the Providence Health Care System/Sisters of Providence Corporations, headquartered in Seattle, Washington.  As Corporate Director of Development he facilitated and coordinated the fund raising programs of nineteen Providence Foundations, producing over $30 million annually and built the combined net equity of the Foundations to over $100 million. As President of the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation, Burbank, CA he set up, organized, staffed and produced $20 million in the first three years.

Mr. Collier started his development career as an in-the-field capital campaign consultant and manager with Development Directions, Inc. in New York City, where he become Vice President of Operations.

Mr. Collier has been a Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).  He has served on the national board of directors, and served as Fellows examiner. He served on the faculty of the Institute for Healthcare Philanthropy at the University of Wisconsin, Madison for 10 years and was the Director of the Institute for three years.  Mr. Collier is the former president and one of the founders of the Health System Development Network (HSDN) which is a professional association of corporate level development officers of over 40 multi-institutional health care systems.  He is an author, contributor to professional journals and periodicals, and has been a featured presenter at regional, national, and international conferences.

He was born in Iowa and raised in Wyoming. Mr. Collier currently resides in Manhattan.
